Sexual Preference

Bisexuality

Bisexuals love everyone be it male or female and many see it as a blending of the two primary social sexual orientations - heterosexuality and homosexuality. This is not to say that they are equally attracted to both sexes, as often a bisexual will still have a preference of one over the other. But at the end of the day, most bisexuals live along the lines of "If you cant be with the one you love, love the one your with".

Bisexuals will bee just as varied as everyone else and some will dive into sex with who ever when ever while others only dive in when the mood hits them or after they got good and drunk.

Naturally most bisexuals laugh at the idea of "proper sexual behavior" which varies from culture to culture This is part of why bisexuality challenges our conventional understandings of sexual orientation. In the real world its easy to understand "we love it all!". However most people feel a need to complicate things, so in their eyes it cannot be put in a simple category leaving it in some sort of sexual limbo. But ignoring people who don't want to understand, you average bisexual is quite happy to play on both teams and enjoying fun times all around.

Stigma/ Perception

It is interesting to note that because bisexuals are open to all sex's that some straight and gay groups shun them. This can often cause feelings of alienation for young people already struggling with their own sexual identity. Since some gay community view ‘bi’ as a sell out of a homosexual identity to fit in to the straight world, bisexual people are treated as inauthentic members of the larger homosexual scene.

More confusing is the heterosexual majority tends to view female bisexuality as a normal expression of a mans fantasy, and male bisexuality as latent homosexuality. To say the least this makes bisexuals in some areas feel as though their sexual desires and orientation are not recognized or understood. Naturally this tends to cause more feelings of self-doubt and loathing.

Thankfully with the introduction of the internet and open forums for communication, the bisexual community is doing a good job of making its own place in the world, and the misunderstands about this community are slowly fading with time.
