Sex Toys

Materials used in
sex toys

Silicone

Most silicone toys are high quality, smooth, durable and very shareable, but high quality sex toys tend to cost more so don't be surprised by the price.  Silicone toys are also very easy to clean up after, and can be washed with soap and water or sterilized in boiling water. If your really lazy (and no ones around) you can even run it through the dishwasher (with the exception of anything that has electronics inside). Silicone is a soft, durable, material that when properly cared for will have a very long life span. Silicone is also hypoallergenic, non toxic and once again easy to sterilize - that’s why it’s used in a wide range of toys.

Rubber/Latex

Rubber toys are usually a bit harder then silicone, and cost less. But they are cheaper because they are less flexible which could result in a less realistic experience. They are also porous so do not share your rubber sex toys (unless you put a condom on it)!

Some people are allergic to rubber or more specifically the latex inside. They also tend to wear out faster than their silicone or jelly counterparts.

Plastic

Plastic is very hard and un-flexible, but on the other hand if you like the feel of a strong vibe, plastic is the way to go. It is ideal for transmitting vibrations, compared to other materials like jelly that absorb it. That said you can expect the stimulation from a plastic vibrator to be more intense than from another materials and is on par with metal. Cleaning is also easy and only requires a wet soapy washcloth and then a paper towel damp with rubbing alcohol. Since plastic vibrators are not normally waterproof, do not wash them under running water. If you want to use one in the bath or shower then look into a waterproof viberator.

Jelly

Jelly toys are low in cost and very flexibility, it may not feel completely real, but the sensation is nice and if you use a good amount of lube, and since they are cheap you can stock up on a bunch.

Do keep in mind jelly toys have a 'smell" to them and they are sticky to the touch forcing you to use a good lubricant with them. They are also porous so do not share them (without a condom).

Remember that jelly will degrade if exposed to a non-water based lubricant or rubbing alcohol, so always use a water based (NOT oil) lubricant. Jelly toys tend to grow mold and be a home to bacteria if they’re exposed to too much moisture, so take care in how you clean them, dry them, and store them.

Nu-Skin

Nu-Skin is a very popular option because of the realism it adds to your toys. It's is also known as 'Cyber skin' or 'Ultra Skin', and is as close as you can get to the look and feel of real skin. It is however more expensive due to all these wonderful features

Do remember that like real skin, Nu-skin is porous, so you have to be careful cleaning it. With as much as these cost make sure you take care in how you wash, dry, and store them. We recommend warm soapy water, drying with a lint free towel (be gentle) and storage in a cool dry place that is dark. If you can try and store in when it is inside a lint free sock or a satin satchel.

Glass, Acrylic & Metal

Glass and Acrylic toys are durable and the nice ones are appealing to the eye. These types of materials are non-porous making for easy sharing and easy clean up! These are naturally very firm toys even if they are lightweight and lube is a big plus with this type of toy as it adds to the smooth and sensual experience.

Acrylic is a type of plastic and much like glass can also be very appealing in its crafting and appearance.

A Metal dildos feel depends on the metal used in its construction, but they tend to have a hard smooth exterior and are easy to clean.
